Pikes Peak is the best known of all Colorado’s mountain peaks. Situated on the very front of the front range of mountains, its snow-capped peak is visible for a hundred miles awav from its base. It reaches an altitude of 14,110 feet and is named after its discoverer,Lieut. Zebulon Pike, who was not however, the first white man to ascend to the top.
